一餐 The First Canteen
This humble-looking hall was the first canteen built on campus where students crowded in for their meals everyday. As it is located at the opening to the midnight snack street and student dorms abound in this area, it was quite popular. Yet as Taiwan’s economy booms, the tastes of students also changed and the humble hall no longer pose any attraction for those who are looking for some style and class while having their meals.
So the university decided to turn this place into an exhibition, performance, and socializing space for students. Quite a few parties and dances have been held here. As the hall is left empty and the walls are rather plain, how to cover up and decorate the ugly walls has become a serious challenge for anyone who wants to make use of this space. In fact, we have seen quite a few spectacular decorations in the past years. So who says a plain-looking hall is useless?
